To provide its clients with more accurate information, PSA Group has access to an independent and certified measure of real-world fuel consumption. This initiative is in collaboration with NGO Transport & Environment and la fédération France Nature Environnement. Together, they have set up a protocol to measure the real world fuel consumption, validated by Bureau Veritas.
This protocol consists of measuring consumption in real traffic conditions, over 92.3km on different types of road: city, extra urban and motorways. Measured vehicles run on open roads with all the usual traffic conditions that arise in day to day life. During testing the vehicles carry typical luggage and passengers, whilst for greater accuracy our testers ensure that comfort features such as air conditioning are left on, just as they would be in the real world.
In addition to the traditional laboratory testing methods, PSA Group is leading the way on providing consumers with real-world fuel consumption data.
The published values, which must always be distinguished from EU type approved fuel consumption, depend on these assumptions and conditions. They therefore have no general value. The measurement protocol is available on PSA Group website, www.groupe-psa.com.
