As Roland-Garros partner for 33 years, Peugeot is providing the Fédération Française de Tennis with more than 230 vehicles from 22 May to 11 June. For the first time, an autonomous Peugeot 3008 is joining the fleet, which this year comprises Peugeot 3008, 5008, Traveller, Partner Electric and Peugeot 508.
Roland-Garros 2017 is also an occasion for the brand to reveal the film presenting its new ambassadors and its new brand signature in the world of tennis.
An autonomous Peugeot 3008 in the Roland-Garros fleet
A Peugeot 3008 from the AVA (Autonomous Vehicle for All) programme will be part of the Roland- Garros fleet for a few days so that players and journalists can discover this new technology.
The PSA Group AVA programme is being rolled out gradually in stages.
Today, many driving aids have already been deployed on the brand's vehicles. From 2018, automated driving functions under the driver's supervision will be available to alleviate monotonous driving on fast roads and traffic jams and assist with parking manoeuvres. From 2020, "hands off" then "eyes off" driving functions will enable the driver to completely delegate driving to the vehicle.
A Peugeot 3008 is also on display within the Roland-Garros stadium with virtual reality headsets for testing driving aid systems.
An up-to-date, connected approach to travel for a responsive and effective service
Peugeot, with Free2Move, mobility brand of the PSA Group and Ocean, an Orange subsidiary, have joined forces to provide innovative trip management solutions in real time for Roland-Garros. With the GéoMissions application, the fleet manager interacts with the driver closest to the pick-up location. The trip order is sent in real time to the driver who is then guided to the location. The passenger is also informed of the vehicle's arrival time.
For the first time, this partnership also enables duplication, on an experimental basis, of the smartphone trip information to the Peugeot 3008, 5008 and Traveller navigation screens. The trips are therefore managed in total security by the driver.
There is also Wi-Fi on board all the fleet vehicles.
Special Peugeot series for Roland-Garros
Since the first "Roland-Garros" vehicles in 1989, all of the brand's special series have adopted the tournament's graphic codes – the series is available in Europe, Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay.
At Roland-Garros, Peugeot is exhibiting Peugeot 108 TOP! and 208 Roland Garros.
A new brand signature in the world of tennis
At Roland-Garros 2017, Peugeot is introducing its new team of ambassadors.
The current and future champions: Alexander Zverev, David Goffin, Lucas Pouille and Pablo Carreño Busta, David Ferrer and Juan Martin Del Potro - as well as the Brazilian mentor, Gustavo Kuerten, are taking part in the communication campaign that is revealing the new brand signature in tennis, "Next Generation, New Sensations".
